As a pre-subscription, I’ve just recently received a notification about Joost going to public finally! Gossh, Welcome aboard Joost!
Joost (pronounced ‘juiced’) is an interactive software for distributing TV shows and other forms of video over the Web using peer-to-peer tv technology, created by Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis (founders of Skype and Kazaa).
Joost began development in 2006. Working under the code name “The Venice Project,” Zennstrom and Friis have assembled teams of some 150 software developers in about a half-dozen cities around the world, including New York, London, Leiden and Toulouse. Joost’s CTO is Dirk-Willem van Gulik.[1]
The teams are currently in negotiations with TV networks. It has signed up with Warner Music, Ministry of Sound TV, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Productions (Indianapolis 500, IndyCar Series) and production company Endemol for the beta.[2] In February 2007, Viacom entered into a deal with the company to distribute content from its media properties, including MTV Networks, BET and film studio Paramount Pictures. *
Too bad we don’t have those bandwidth in this lousy country! I remember heard my expat client talking on the phone with his colleague and he said “Hell, they didn’t know the word SPEEDY really means is” describing the lack of speed and lack of decent services in this country. *disambuation with the product name of one of the national provider.
Anyway, Congratulation Niklas and Janus! 🙂

Speedy not bad sih kata gw… 🙂
Tarifnya udah turun ke 200rb menjadikannya sebagai tarif termurah di Indonesia. 200rb untuk 50 jam (extra menit Rp.25) atau untuk quota 1GB.
Untuk unlimited 750rb. I don’t think that anybody can beat that at this moment. Silahkan para ISP kebakaran jenggot… 🙂
Menurut pengalaman gw 1.5 tahun pake Speedy, ada beberapa point yang mo gw point out.
1. Speed is GOOD. Di tempat gw dapet 40KBps untuk download dari Apple.com
2. Kwalitas koneksi : Putus2. Mungkin karena kwalitas buruk landlinenya….
3. Billing : so far so good….. *knock2 wood*
4. Tech support : NOT EXACTLY A WORLD CLASS SERVICE, but in my opinion they really tried, eventhough the technician was not very good in troubleshooting.
Here’s my latest encounter with Speedy Tech Support : My modem got toasted by lightning. Since I was’t use much of internet at home, I called 147 and reported that I couldn’t connect to internet. The lady guided me to some basic network troubleshooting (such as ping, etc). Finally she opened the trouble ticket. A few days later, a technician dropped by my home to check the connection. Of course he couldn’t connect, but he didn’t know why. He left and promised to return the next day. The very next day, he said that they rewired my line at their ‘sentral’. They checked again and no internet. They left empty handed.
Two days later they came back. This time they brought their own modem. 🙂 Replacing my modem with theirs, and the internet is on. So basically it took them 4 days to find out that my modem was the culprit. Total days : 1 week.
Basically, I’m a happy Speedy customer. 🙂
*knock2 wood*
