It’s been a month or two late of its competition. Asus, HP, Sony Vaio already launched their i3, i5, i7 laptop, still there’s no sign of Apple will releasing its i5 or i7 MacBook Pro. Here’s my predictions:
1. It’s HOT. 35 Watt TDP (Termal Dissipation) versus 25 Watt on current Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro design. So it will less compelling. Pretty much like Santa Rosa based MacBook Pro which still 35W.
2. It’s an iPad venue. Everybody will keep eye on iPad. iPad will be HUGE. I suspect will sell tenth of millions on 2 years, pretty much like iPod craze. Developers all embracing iPad and left Google’s Android nor Blackberry development platform on the dust. Why? Simply because iPad is the most amazing technology develop with passion and love by a company who has everything (money and resources). So, Apple don’t want to spoil iPad venue. Let’s iPad shines and don’t want to steal its shows.
3. NVIDIA-Intel disputes. There’s no current status on NVIDIA MCP79 successor, whether Apple will adopt MCP89 (3-chips design) or push Intel to get rid those stupid graphics chip built inside i7 and i5 and i3. Apple want to bring something to the table that not just a brick like Dell nor Acer, nor Compaq or HP. All those PC manufacturers are lame and lazy when it comes to innovation.
So when will Apple ship its next generation Core i7 or i5 MacBook Pro? Hmm… It ships when it’s ready. So don’t expect anything soon less than a week or so. I don’t really care if my next generation MacBook Pro will build on ARM Cortex-9 or Apple’s own design chips, as long as it’s sexy, light, and of course RUNS Mac OS X.

males juga klo mo ganti macbookpro, berarti harus install ulang semua plugin rails mana ada beberapa yang confignya setengah mati :/

numpang nanya, mas..kebetulan lagi ngomong ttg carbon copy cloner…kalo pakai back-up data di Time Machine utk “copy” isi ke harddisk macbook lain bisa ga yah? jadi rencananya mau tulis ulang HD macbook lain trus di-“isi” semua backup data di Time Machine. hehehee udah pernah pake beberapa i5 15″ dan sementara skip dulu, saya ga suka onboard vga di i5… masih prefer nvidia southbridge… 😀
