It’s been a month or two late of its competition. Asus, HP, Sony Vaio already launched their i3, i5, i7 laptop, still there’s no sign of Apple will releasing its i5 or i7 MacBook Pro. Here’s my predictions:

1. It’s HOT. 35 Watt TDP (Termal Dissipation) versus 25 Watt on current Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro design. So it will less compelling. Pretty much like Santa Rosa based MacBook Pro which still 35W.

2. It’s an iPad venue. Everybody will keep eye on iPad. iPad will be HUGE. I suspect will sell tenth of millions on 2 years, pretty much like iPod craze. Developers all embracing iPad and left Google’s Android nor Blackberry development platform on the dust. Why? Simply because iPad is the most amazing technology develop with passion and love by a company who has everything (money and resources). So, Apple don’t want to spoil iPad venue. Let’s iPad shines and don’t want to steal its shows.

3. NVIDIA-Intel disputes. There’s no current status on NVIDIA MCP79 successor, whether Apple will adopt MCP89 (3-chips design) or push Intel to get rid those stupid graphics chip built inside i7 and i5 and i3. Apple want to bring something to the table that not just a brick like Dell nor Acer, nor Compaq or HP. All those PC manufacturers are lame and lazy when it comes to innovation.

So when will Apple ship its next generation Core i7 or i5 MacBook Pro? Hmm… It ships when it’s ready. So don’t expect anything soon less than a week or so. I don’t really care if my next generation MacBook Pro will build on ARM Cortex-9 or Apple’s own design chips, as long as it’s sexy, light, and of course RUNS Mac OS X.

kronologis: hubungan apple dan google yang pernah dekat (steve menunjuk eric menjadi salah satu member board nya apple), menjadi kurang mesra setelah google merilis Android, segmen pasar apple dengan iPhonenya. Steve bilang, well, kita tidak pernah mencoba memasuki pasar search engine, karena itu milik google dan kita menghargainya.

Beberapa point yang diterangkan pihak Kapersky Labs bahwa Apple marketshare apabila membesar akan mengundang banyak virus, dan kepedulian untuk berbagi menscan virus untuk platform Windows 😛 hehehe…

Karena eventnya adalah reriungan, gua kok ya ga enak mo komen serius disana 😀 hihihi.. jadi peserta manis aja deh kemaren. Sebenarnya, ada beberapa point lain yang perlu diangkat. Sebagai Professional dan IT Consultant for almost 17 years (11 taon terakhir sebagai CEO di perusahaan IT kecil abal-abal), saya pernah menulis soal security yaitu dua hal “Satu marketshare, kedua adalah SECURITY BY OBSCURITY”. Kalo sesuatu system itu obscure (adjective ( -scurer , -scurest )
not discovered or known about; uncertain : his origins and parentage are obscure.
• not clearly expressed or easily understood : obscure references to Proust.
• not important or well known : an obscure religious sect.
• hard to make out or define; vague : figurative I feel an obscure resentment.

Maka tidak akan mudah buat para pengiseng untuk create something to break in. Contoh paling baik adalah OpenBSD, salah sebuah sistem operasi yang lesser known di kalangan pengguna akhir, yang lebih dikenal luas para sistem admin, yang dibangun dengan security-paranoia in minds thanks to Theo de Raadt (creator OpenSSH dan OpenSSL juga yang kurang diapresiasi masyarakat industri — hampir semua gadget pake OpenSSH minimal, tapi ga pernah bayar kontribusi donasi ke beliau).

Windows? enuff comment 😀 hehehehe…. populer tapi bukan paling secure. Saya cuma berkesempatan men-sosialisasikan pentingnya pengguna akhir berhati-hati terhadap PHISHING. Phishing adalah tampilan web yang mirip aslinya dibuat untuk mencuri password anda yang anda serahkan karena anda pikir anda login ke tempat yang benar. Cara paling baik adalah liat domain ato URL yang anda ingin ketik. Kalo tampilan mirip yahoo website kan ga mungkin anda disuruh login dari www.sinagabonar.com/guamaucuripasswordyahoocomanda/logindisinisayang.htm kan?

Anda bisa perhatikan dari link Tom’s Hardware kalo NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT scorenya 547. Kalo NVIDIA 9500GT kira2 sedikit diatas NVIDIA 8600GT di kisaran 1800-1900an. ATI Radeon HD4870 melejit di score 6,990 (enam ribu versus lima ratus, jauh pisan!). Kalo di chart kumplit bisa diperhatikan VGA yang lebih mumpuni biasanya ada akhiran SLI ato CF. Kalo itu = dua buah VGA yang dipasang secara parallel dengan teknologi SLI nya NVIDIA ato Cross-Fire nya ATI. Dua-duanya tidak available for Mac.
