Modem Available As Built-To-Order Option?? Apple, Come On Wake Up!!

Macintosh 10 Comments »

It happened few months ago when I got a replacement for second generation PowerMac G5 for my client. It was a PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0GHz replacing the Dual 1.8GHz. All sudden my client complaint that the new machines does not come with modem. Wooot??? I have to admit that I have not check the new specs, I thought (as usual) the new machine only get a slight processor upgrade. Hmmm…. I wonder what Steve’s thinking. There must be zillions way to connect to the web without a modem. True! It works only for big countries like US, Europe, Japan, Korea, Singapore.. but one thing that Apple lacks to imagine that Apple also have strong based in developing countries like Indonesia (if you’re not agree with word strong based, let’s say an emerging market!)…. and now everything becoming worse due the some of Mac mini now has no modem as built in features ๐Ÿ™

Broadband is practically non-existent in country like Indonesia…. Apple please wake up!! Why don’t just drop the modem as standard on next generation PowerBook. I guess it would be an even better idea.

What Will Apple Bring On 12th October’s Announcement??

Macintosh, Technology 13 Comments »

It’s the year 2005. It’s an exciting times for those who loves technology as much as the design itself. It’s the only company that backed all three industries, computer industry, animation industry and the music industry. It’s Apple. One thing for sure Apple loves secret! It’s been going for almost the year 2003 and forward. Steve loves to keep it everything secretive since the first success of launching iPod with Windows-compatible (it’s the 3rd generation iPod).

Now Apple brings back the game. The hide and seek game. The Special Event Announcement on the next 12th October. The invitation letter says “One More Thing…” So what will it be? Let’s your imagination run wild! Will it be the next generation Video iPod or Dual Core PowerMacs or G5 PowerBooks?… Please please gentlement… Share your thoughts and hopes, and let Steve’s team read it on those comments ๐Ÿ˜€ Hopefully your wishes will be come true ๐Ÿ˜›

For sure, you’ll be wanting more Apple’s than you’ll ever be. That the good thing about Steve coming back to the party!! Rage on!!

Id-Mac Gathering, September 2005

Macintosh, Social 10 Comments »

Here’s the screenshots we have from the gathering! It was fun, dan rame banget. ๐Ÿ˜› Buat rekan-rekan yang tertarik untuk bergabung walaupun anda belum menggunakan Apple, feel free to join the club!… kita welcome kok. Enjoy!

No FireWire Connection for iPod Nano? :(

Macintosh 4 Comments »

I just got back from 5 days business trip when I realize that I forgot to put my iPod nano USB cable. I remember it must be left somewhere on my client’s office. Ok, no problem I said, since I still have one unpacked FireWire cable for iPod that I bought a month ago due distributor sent me the wrong cable which I actually need (I ordered FireWire cable for iSight but they’ve sent me FireWire cable for iPod).

I opened the box and puff… I tap it into my trusty PowerBook G4… ouch look what I found…. “FireWire connection are not supported. To transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided. Press Center to dismiss”.

Seems that the iPod nano is not supporting the FireWire data connection at all ๐Ÿ™ Most-likely it’s a true that Apple started to dropping FireWire support in favor of USB on its iPod line.
