Why I Hate My PowerBook!!

Uncategorized Add comments

When it comes to my PowerBook G4, two things that hates me so much!! Its heat! and the SuperDrive!!
Apple advertises the new PowerBook G4 with 8x SuperDrive (DVD writer at 8x writing speed)*. So here I am purchased the new 1.67GHz PowerBook G4 15.2″ SuperDrive.

Then I start to notice that the so-called SuperDrive CAN’T write properly at 8x!! (Thanks to Matshita UJ-835E DVDRW drives!) I bought Melody DVD-R media rated at 8x but I can only write at 2x!! Silly. But then I start to angry when most of my media won’t write properly. GTPro rated at 4x only write at 2x 🙁 Evenworse CD Blank 52x can only write at 8x!! (when the SuperDrive specs allows to write at 24x!!) Puhleeeezzeeeee…. the only media that write at proper speed is Apple’s own DVD-R media rated at 8x but costs 4 times as much!! WTF!!

Now I mad as hell since I pay premium price for this PowerBook and what I got? A lausy DVD writer that can’t write at proper speed??

I check the web and guess I’m not the only one who has the problem:
even it listed on Apple forum :

I got no problem with my iMac G4 1.25GHz 17″TFT, guess this all faults can be blamed on Matshita (Panasonic) and Apple’s lack in finding good OEM for his so-called Premium Notebook.

This is so unacceptable defects and I wonder why all Apple executives are ignoring it (while they also use their own PowerBook for daily business). Or are they all only use Apple’s own branded DVD media??? This is ridiculous!!

Now I want my money back!!!

*reference from Apple site:
